Hi, Welcome to July, and this month's edition of ACS News.

I can't believe how cold it's been here in the past month! Melbourne has thankfully had its wettest June for 9 years - we badly needed the rain! Someone local to me told me that where I now live is looking more like it used to some years ago with all the rain. I don't mind the rain but the wind can find somewhere else to go thank you!

When it's not too wet and windy I'm enjoying daily walks outside exploring the beautiful area in which I now live. If you'd like to see what I see on a regular basis, make sure you subscribe to my photoblog.

Welcome to all new readers and of course to our long-term regulars as well.

Sincerely,
Kathie M. Thomas

Finding a Domain Name is just the start

Now that you've read Sharon's article above, what's the next step? Many starting out in business or planning to set up a website do not realise there are 3 components to a website.

The first is the domain name - that's the address you will use for people to find your site.

The second is webhosting. You need a webspace where your website will be housed and to where the domain name will point.

The third is the website itself. If you're not creating it then you will need to engage a web designer to build it for you. But then you also need to decide whether they will continue to maintain it, or if you want something designed that you can log into and maintain yourself as it needs updating. Websites should be updated regularly to keep the content fresh - writing a newsletter, for example, is a good way to have fresh new content on a regular basis.

Perhaps you need a Virtual Assistant to assist you with the above process. I can certainly help you search for and register a domain name, set up a webspace through a webhost and then create or design your website and publish it for you. This also applies to Blogs. If you would like a special offer in webhosting and design please email me.

Have a great month!

Kathie
