You may, or may not, be aware that I will be presenting at the OfficeShow this coming week in Sydney at the exhibition centre. Below is a post from the AVAA website with the details. If you would like to attend the morning tea please email me as soon as possible so I can add your name to the RSVP list. There is also a VA Meetup over dinner on Wednesday 16th October @ 6.30pm at Cyren. Again, we need to know numbers so if you could please RSVP for that also, that would be appreciated. Hope to see you this week when I visit Sydney!
Please note that the breakfast has been cancelled and there will now be a morning tea provided, instead, at the first presentation. RSVP for the Free morning tea is essential. For those who had originally responded to the breakfast message, please reconfirm that you will be coming to the morning tea instead.

10.00-10.45 Kathie Thomas AVAA
Introduction to the Virtual Assistant Industry
Kathie will introduce the topic of what a Virtual Assistant is and how the industry began. Few people would know that it started in Australia the same time as the US – ahead of the rest of the world. She will also introduce the Australian Virtual Assistants Association and their role within the industry. Kathie will also explain how people can become a Virtual Assistant and the skill-set and knowledge they need to have.
11.00-11.45 Kathie Thomas AVAA
What does it mean to be a VA?
In this session Kathie will explain how clients can use a Virtual Assistant to assist them in their businesses. She will share case story examples of the type of work first carried out almost 20 years ago compared to what is done today and show how technology has been the catalyst for the evolvement of the Virtual Assistant industry.
And don’t forget that AVAA has a stand at A11 for the full two days of the event: 16 & 17 October, which is this week. Please do pop in to say hi, there will be a business card prize draw and we have postcards promoting AVAC 2014 which you can pick up. We have a number of VAs assisting us now but would appreciate another 1 or 2 for Thursday if there is anyone available for a couple of hours.
