Well, it’s going to be on again. The Australian VA Conference (AVAC) will take place in Melbourne on 4-5 May 2012. We decided on the date change to allow time for bookings to come in and hopefully some delegates from other countries as well. It’s certainly open to all VAs to attend in person so if you’re in New Zealand, Asia or other countries nearby, or perhaps in the northern hemisphere and you’d like to come and experience a Melbourne Autumn at the same time! The weather is usually lovely at that time of year, cooler evenings but still lovely days.
We have a different venue, having made the decision to have the conference, dinner and accommodation all in the one place so we can spend more time getting to know one another instead of wandering from one building to another. I’ve been to check the venue out and there is a lovely balcony attached to the conference room, and the accommodation rooms have great views of the city in the distance. Parkvew on St Kilda Road is right across the road from tennis courts and down the road from Albert Park Lake, so there’s plenty of places to get exercise and go for walks. A short tram ride up St Kilda Road will have you in the city in a very short time indeed.
So get your diaries out, mark off the 4-5 May 2012 and plan to come to our event. In fact, why don’t you book right now? We promise we will have a great line up of speakers. A call has been put out and we already have some fantastic speakers who have responded. Can’t wait to reveal who they all are!
