I thought I would share more on finding clients as a Virtual Assistant. We’ve touched on all the regular things and most of all networking – I believe that many don’t fully understand the value and importance of real time face-to-face networking. Why ignore a good percentage of your potential client audience that is close by – just because you work virtually?
Local face-to-face networking has always been effective and still is. I was doing that before the Internet and still do it today. I belong to BNI and have belonged to a Chamber of Commerce in the past.
I also attend local council networking groups but what is probably forgotten by most are any hobbies or personal interests you might have. Not every networking group you go to has to be about business – you can meet business people when pursuing your hobbies too. In the past I’ve found clients via a writing forum which is one of my hobbies. I’ve met people through gardening interests and also photography. It doesn’t matter what your hobby or interest is, there will be interest groups and clubs locally and online. And many of their members will work, run businesses or know someone who does. They all become part of your sphere of influence. So, what hobbies do you have that you haven’t yet tapped into for networking?
