Virtual assistant services says
Virtual assistants are always regarded as a substitute but they are more than just a virtual employee. They give your non-strategic work a direction, work hard and give you the place you need in this competitive world.
Kathie Thomas says
You have used that word ’employee’ and I have to emphasise that Virtual Assistants are NOT employees. They are self-employed business owner/operators. If you’re providing VA services and using the word ’employee’ to describe what you do, no wonder the general public gets confused. Your description of what they do is right, just not the use of the word ’employee’.

I work as a virtual assistant, but for a virtual assistant company, not for myself or my own company. So I am technically an employee, although I guess I am not ’employed’ by the company using the services of the company I work for. Does this even make sense? (lol)
Kathie Thomas says
So, does that mean the Virtual Assistant company pays your taxes, sick leave, work cover, annual leave? Do they give you payslips for your tax returns?
If the answer is ‘no’, then you are self-employed, sub-contracting to a business who is giving you work to do for one of their clients. If the answer is ‘yes’, then I guess that means you are an employee – but that, in general, is not how the VA industry usually works and it is a rarity. It is important for clients and virtual assistants to understand that.

You’ll never know how much a virtual assistant can be of help to the success of your business unless and until your tried to hire one. ๐

You are right! Thanks for the clarification – I guess I am a VA rather than employee ๐
