Have you thought about how you are going to help your clients in the new year? The following is an email I sent out to a selection of clients I know have toyed with some of these ideas over the past couple of years but still haven’t quite gotten down to it. Perhaps I can help them move forward in 2013.
So, 2013 is almost here. Do you remember what you were planning for this year, or even the previous year, but never got around to it?
I know I’ve mentioned this before but these things are worth thinking about… and acting on.
If you’ve never settled to writing a regular blog, or newsletter, then this new year is the time to action this item. I highly suggest a blog and the reasons why are these:
- A blog post does not have to be a long article. It can be a paragraph, an observation, a series of tips, highlighting a client case study, talking about a new project, a number of things really. A good goal to aim for is 4 posts a month, that’s one a week. But you don’t have to write them weekly, you could propose to write 4 small articles at the beginning of each month (or the end of the previous month) and pre-post them, or get me to, so that they post once a week each month.
- Having regular new content on your site is a good way to get Google and other search engines to take notice of your site. It has fresh new content and is not considered a stale site. Posts that have keywords in the title and articles help people to find you online when searching for the services or products you provide.
- Writing a regular blog helps grow your subscriber list over time.
- If you’re already writing a blog or newsletter, but not regularly, then the three points above are really important for you to think about.
Your website. Does it need a fresh new look for the new year? Or perhaps we need to tweak the current pages and menu items you have?
Your social media profiles. Have you got a LinkedIn Profile or Facebook page that is out of date and needs refreshing and being added to? Perhaps the profile image needs updating too? For that matter, do photos need updating on your website and blog too?
Have you been planning to write a book for some time and just haven’t gotten around to it? Perhaps the manuscript is partly or completely written but you didn’t know where to go to from there? Below are the covers of 5 books that I’ve been instrumental in getting from a basic manuscript to a fully printed and published book. I’ve also assisted with other manuscripts that have been submitted to traditional publishers. If this has been your goal for some time, then perhaps we need to have a chat and set your launch date for 2013. It is achievable and can be done with a plan set in place. Worried about the cost? Have a chat to me, it may not be as expensive as you think.
I hope that the above ideas will help you think about your plans for 2013 and I look forward to being involved in discussing them with you.
So, what can you encourage your clients to consider for the new year?
