On a VA forum a new VA has been asking questions of those who have been a Virtual Assistant for more than 12 months. She wanted to know how they have found it and whether it would work for her. Other VAs have joined in the conversation, particularly other newbies planning to take the same path. One commented she was worried that she might miss the boat, even though she was really scared to take that course of action. My response to her was this:
The only way to miss the boat, is to not get on it. There’s room for you and others. If you don’t do it, you’ll always wonder ‘what if…?’. I was like you over 17 years ago. The industry didn’t even exist then. But I knew I wanted to work at home, I had a computer at home and I had excellent secretarial skills. I had to give it a try to see ‘what if…’ and that turned into ‘I’m glad I did’. You will be too!
